Have a browse through this list--there is sure to be something to grab your attention!

Specific Tools to Use With Students

This page will highlight certain tools.  Most can also be found under

Collections on the Technology for Teachers Page.

Wordle

This tool allows students to build 'word clouds'.  Tagxedo is similar but

can build word clouds in specific shapes. For ideas on how to use this tool,

take a look at this slideshow.

Glogster

Create a poster with words, audio and video.  There is an educational version-

-check the bottom of the page.

Kerpoof

A good site for Grade 2 and up.  Lots of ways to make stories, posters ,etc.

You can register your class and use the teacher options.

Scholastic

Take some time and review this site.  There are some good writing ideas

and you can even register you class with an author.  Science, Social

Studies and Math activities are also included.

PhotoPeach

This is a good tool for students to use when doing a research project.

Animoto

Animoto takes your photos and turns them into an interesting video.  Good

for projects and research.  Check the bottom of the first page for education

versions.

Typing Tutor

Although the British accent is a little heavy, I like this program for younger students.  It will help

with the basics and, of course, students can practise at home.

Pictures for Students

In an effort to encourage students to use picturese that are free and legal, here are some sites to

use.  This is a good time to remind students about copyright issues and

laws.  CyberSmart includes some copyright information as well as online manners and safety.
